Fishy Friends

About a month ago, we got a ten-gallon fish tank and put it in my room. A couple days later, we got two neon tetras (picture). One of them died that day, so we went back to get another few the next day. But then the man at the pet shop said neon tetras were bad beginner fish. He advised silver mollies (silver picture), so we got three of those. But when we put them in the tank, both tetras died.

After that first fiasco, the mollies seemed pretty happy. After a while, we got an algae eater (a fish that eats algae off tank walls and ornaments) called a plecostomus. But a few days after that, one of the mollies had four babies! Soon we'll be giving them back to the pet shop.

But recently, one of the mollies' eyes swelled up, and after a few days it died. That was just yesterday. According to petco, mollies should have at least two other grown companions. So we went over there and got two more fish- a black molly and a neon swordtail. Right now we have nine fish, soon to be five.
